SENSITIVITY FOR THE FEELINGS OF OTHERS
Today I share with you a simple rule that could exponentially improve the relationship with your spouse and children. Be sensitive to the feelings of others.
There is a biblical principle known as the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The next time you are tempted to utter a bitter, unkind word to your spouse or a hasty, impatient word or expression to your kids, just pause and think about the golden rule.
Remember, whenever a person starts thinking (engaging serious thoughts), then he has begun the journey of becoming a great human. Would I want this done to me? Let this question, permeate your mind today.
There are some bridges that have a weight limit. To venture to cross a bridge with a vehicle that exceeds the bridge's weight limit could result in major disaster. Weigh your words before you drop them, for the person on the receiving end may not possess the emotional and spiritual strength to endure their potentially explosive power.
Many children today have rejected Christianity, are strung out on drugs, spending long terms behind bars, and are leading a life of hopelessness and disillusionment, because somebody leveled at them words that they were not able to bear. Consider well the possible consequences of your words and actions before you make the first move.
This is a good rule to follow: Put your brain in gear before you put your mouth in action.
Go forth and make a difference in your home today by considering the golden rule, and being aware of the power of your words
Have a day filled sensitivity towards others,
